For many patients, it takes 3 to 6 treatment appointments to have a full reduction of scarring. However, between your first appointment and your desired results, you will notice a gradual improvement of the scar texture, usually within 6 to 8 weeks of your first appointment.
Microneedling procedures aren’t painful, but they can be uncomfortable, especially for patients who may be afraid of needles. Microneedling uses tiny needlepoints to create punctures within the dermis; doing so helps encourage the body’s collagen and elastin production, leading to younger and smoother-looking skin.
Within 48 hours, the majority of the redness you experience after microneedling will go away. Peeling, flaking and breakouts may take a little longer. Although not everyone will experience them, additional side effects from microneedling include pimples, acne and dry skin.
