How do you do it?

What is involved?

The filler is injected into the area with a very fine needle and discomfort is minimal. Initially there will be some swelling and sometimes bruising in the lip area from the injections. This should quickly subside to reveal your full and plump and newly defined luscious lips.

Results from Dermal Fillers begin to show immediately after treatment and can last up to around six months when injected into the lips.
 
To give your lip filler the best chance of lasting as long as possible, there are lip filler aftercare steps you can take. Do not squeeze, massage or mess around too much with your lips, as this could cause the filler to break down more quickly and mean you get to enjoy the results for less time.

Yes – Dermal lip fillers are safe. Dermal Filler is made up from Hyaluronic Acid which is found naturally in the body. Safety and client comfort is our main priority and we will ensure that you are comfortable throughout the procedure.

There is slight discomfort but we will minimise this, as we will thoroughly apply a local anaesthetic before your injections. Most clients feel a small scratch from the needle and then a stinging sensation, although the anaesthetic will significantly reduce this to a minimum.
 
We will then administer of small injections containing Dermal Filler into the lips using an ultrafine needle. The gel will help to plump up your lips instantly, giving you volume and shape. The area of the lip that the Dermal Filler is injected into will depend on the desired effect that you wish to achieve. Results are visible immediately and clients are usually able to go back to their day to day activities.
After you have had a lip filler treatment you resume your normal day to day activities, however there is some small side effects from Dermal Filler which are common so it is important to follow all aftercare instructions to obtain maximum results without complications.
 
The most common side effects include:
  • Tenderness
  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Pain
  • Redness
  • Discolouration
  • Itching at the injection site.
It is recommended to use iced water soaks or ice packs to help reduce swelling. The reactions normally appear shortly after treatment and may last between 1-7 days, in some cases, it may take longer, but this is not common. Avoid activities that cause excessive perspiration such as, the gym or visiting a sauna for 48 hours – these types of activities risk you sweating the Dermal Filler out. Please also avoid any form of makeup, facial or spa treatment for 48 hours, as again this may cause the Dermal Filler to spread.
